Mental health in teens In the last year, hospital visits due to mental health in teens ages 12 to 17 went up by 31%. One-third of these teens have had an issue with mental health more than once in the past year. Since teens are developing and growing, their mental health can affect how their brain grows. Some things to help maintain good mental health are eating healthy and getting a hobby that they enjoy. Teens can also talk to someone who they are close to for help with anger and sadness. Unstable mental health can affect schoolwork and emotions. Teens’ mental health is important because it can affect their future. When teens have a stable life, they are happier and healthier. If a teen has a problem, there are many ways to fix it. They can try going for a walk, riding a bike, and talking with friends. When facing these problems, teens may need more than just 1 day to feel better. Hormonal changes that teens may be experiencing can often make it difficult to notice signs of mental health issues. Though it may be hard for parents to notice, it is important to build the trust of the teen. Fall • 2022 Nonprofit Org.
